Terms and conditions
Ten articles, in plain language. What we provide, what you pay, who answers for what and how you get out of it.
This is an English translation for convenience. If the English and the Dutch version differ, the Dutch version applies.
1. Definitions and applicability
GoYou is GoYou B.V., Oosterhoutsestraat 7, 6677 PS Slijk-Ewijk, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 42102342. The service is the platform at app.goyou.io with which teaching material is created and on which students work with it. Teacher is the person who has an account. School is the educational institution the teacher works for. Student is the person who is invited by a teacher.
These terms apply to all use of the service. There are two ways in which the agreement comes about: a school enters into it for a team, or a teacher enters into it for themselves. In both cases, the agreement is entered into in the course of a profession or business and not as a consumer. There is therefore no fourteen-day cooling-off period. You can, however, cancel monthly, as set out in article 9.
Personal data of students is processed when the service is used. The data processing agreement, which is part of these terms, applies to that. By inviting students, the teacher accepts that agreement on behalf of the school. What exactly is processed is set out in the privacy statement.
2. The account
An account is personal. You do not share your login details and you do not let a colleague work on it with you; that is what buying for a team is for. If you notice that someone else can get into your account, report it to security@goyou.io and we will shut it off.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Students get access because you invite them; you only invite students who have been entrusted to you, and you remove them when that is no longer the case.
We may block an account if it is misused, if it is used to spread unlawful content or if the safety of others is at stake. We do not do that lightly: except in the case of acute danger, you are notified first and given the chance to put it right.
3. What the service does, and what reasonable use is
GoYou creates teaching material on your instructions: a presentation, instructions, practice tasks and an AI tutor that guides students through the material. All subjects, all classes and all students of that teacher are included; students never pay.
Reasonable use. There is no counter on your account. The subscription is intended for the teaching of one teacher, and a normal weekly output fits with that. If your use is consistently above roughly twenty generated lessons per week, we will contact you to see what is going on. That is a conversation, not a cut-off. What is not allowed: querying the service by automated means, reselling it, or letting people without their own account use it.
The service is not a replacement for your professional judgement and not an assessment tool. What the AI tutor says to a student is generated text and may be wrong.
4. Price, payment and the beta
During the beta, nobody pays anything. The beta runs from 1 September 2026 and is free, with all features. We will announce at least one month in advance when the beta ends and what applies after that. If you do not want to continue at that point, your account stops and you pay nothing.
After that, the service is paid. The price applies per teacher and includes VAT; the current amount is on the pricing page and is the price that applied when you took out the subscription. There is no start-up fee and no minimum term. For a team or a whole school we agree a school price; we then record it in writing, and it takes precedence over this article.
A free tier also remains: five uses per month, where one use is one product, such as a lesson or a test. The student environment is included, with the practice work, the tutor and the class overview. No payment and no notice period are attached to it.
You pay monthly in advance. If you do not pay, we send a reminder; if payment still does not follow, we may suspend access until payment has been made. We do not delete anything during that period.
We announce price changes at least one month in advance. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the effective date.
5. Who is responsible for the content
GoYou creates the material, you review and edit it, and you teach the lesson. That puts the responsibility for the content with you as the teacher and with your school. That is not a legal trick but how it works: an AI does not know your class and you do. Before a lesson goes to students, you approve it. From that moment on, you are the one teaching it.
If you upload material yourself, you declare that you are allowed to use it. Material from a publisher for which you do not have a licence does not belong in it.
If you see something that is not right or is out of line, report it to info@goyou.io. We remove material that is unlawful as soon as we become aware of it.
6. Who owns what
GoYou owns everything the lesson is made with: the platform, the activity library, the teaching activities, the templates, the design and the underlying database. You get a right to use these, for as long as you have an account.
You may do what you like with what you make within your teaching practice: use it, adapt it, print it, give it to your class and share it with colleagues. What you may not do is sell it outside GoYou or offer it as your own product.
If you share a lesson or a series with a colleague, you give that colleague the right to use your outline and to have it worked out for their own class. What you share is the outline, not your finished lesson. You can stop sharing again; what a colleague has had made for their own class in the meantime stays there.
GoYou may store, improve and delete generated material, and reuse parts of it in material for other teachers, without your data or your class’s data. There will be no public library in which your lessons can be found by others as a whole. What you have uploaded yourself falls outside this: it remains yours and does not go to others.
7. Availability, maintenance and changes
We do not promise a fixed availability percentage. That is a deliberate choice: such a figure cannot be delivered in a beta, and a number we do not meet is worth less than an honest expectation. We fix outages as quickly as possible and keep you informed if it takes longer.
Where possible, we schedule maintenance outside school hours. The service changes continuously: features are added and features disappear. If something you relied on disappears, let us know at support@goyou.io. We cannot guess in advance who is building on what, but we can take it into account once we know.
We may change these terms. We announce that at least one month in advance by email and on this page. If you do not agree with a change, you can cancel before the effective date.
8. Liability
What this is about: if a mistake on our part causes damage, up to what amount do we pay for it. That could be an outage on the day of a test, or data that gets lost.
This article sets an upper limit, not an amount we pay out for every mistake. That upper limit is the amount you paid in the twelve months before the incident. Because nothing is paid during the beta, that limit would then be zero, and that is not a reasonable limit; that is why €500 applies as the upper limit in any event. Whether anything is compensated, and how much, depends on the damage and on whether we are liable for it.
Consequential loss, lost profits, loss of goodwill and lost savings are not compensated. These limitations do not apply in the case of intent or wilful recklessness on the part of GoYou, nor to damage caused by death or injury.
The other way round: if you use the service in breach of these terms or of the law, and we receive a claim as a result, you do not recover that claim from us.
9. Cancelling, and what happens then
You can cancel monthly. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have paid for; we do not charge anything extra and we do not refund any part.
We may terminate the agreement with one month’s notice, and with immediate effect in the case of misuse or of use that causes harm to others.
After termination, your data remains for another two years, counted from the last activity, after which it is deleted. If you want it removed sooner, we do that on request. Lessons you have shared with colleagues at your school remain available to them, and students keep access to material that had already been prepared for them. Where student data is concerned, the school decides what happens to it: return or destruction.
10. Governing law and disputes
Dutch law applies to these terms and to everything arising from them. We submit disputes to the rechtbank Gelderland, the District Court of Gelderland.
Before it comes to that: call or email us first. Most things are resolved faster in a conversation than in a procedure.
If a provision of these terms is invalid, the others simply remain in force, and we replace that one with something that comes as close to it as possible.
