During the beta, GoYou is free. After that you pay €29.50 a month as a teacher, including VAT. All the subjects you teach are included, and your students are always free.

No. Students are always free, however many there are. That is not a promotion and not a beta condition: it is how GoYou works.

No. One amount per teacher, however many classes or subjects you have.

No, and there are no hidden costs either. Use as much as you need for your own lessons.

Yes. If you want to keep using GoYou without a subscription, you can: you then make five things a month, such as a lesson or a test. Everything is included, the student environment too, with the practice work, the tutor and the class overview.

€29.50 a month including VAT is the price for everyone: no introductory price and no discount for those who got in early. This is where we end up with what we know today, and what we want to stick to. If something fundamental changes, for example because the cost of AI rises sharply, we may review the price for a following school year. You will hear about that well in advance, and never halfway through a school year.

A textbook method easily costs several tens of euros per student per subject per year. For a class of thirty, that is many times what you pay GoYou for everything you teach, and that is for just one subject.

Yes. Get in touch and we will agree a school price.

Either. Some teachers pay for it themselves for now because they want to get started straight away; at other schools it comes out of the team or department budget. If you want to raise it at your school, we are happy to send you a short rationale you can pass on.

Your lessons live in GoYou and there is no export that lets you take them all with you in one go. As long as you have an account, you may use, adapt, give to your class and share with colleagues everything you make, within your own teaching. What you may not do is sell it outside GoYou or offer it as your own product.

About ten minutes. In a short conversation you describe what your class needs, you choose between two lesson outlines, and then you check what GoYou has built.

Yes, all of it. You tweak it, throw out what is wrong and add what is missing. Your lesson, your name on it.

No, and you cannot put material on paper yet either.

For the part they do themselves, yes: the practice work and the tutor run on a screen. If you only work with the presentation and the whole-class activities, they do not.

No. You describe what your class needs in plain language, the way you would tell a colleague.

No. GoYou is mainly for the lessons you have no textbook method for, and alongside the method for the lessons where you do.

You indicate yourself what you are working towards, and GoYou builds the lessons around that. An automatic link to the core objectives and exam programmes is coming soon; until it is there, you describe the goal in your own words during the intake.

You can sign up now. The beta starts with secondary education and MBO (vocational education and training); the upper years of primary education, groep 6 to 8 (ages 9 to 12), follow after that. You keep your place on the list and hear from us as soon as we open.

Several lessons that together work towards one goal. You say where you want to get to and how many lessons you have, and GoYou builds the steps in between.

No. A written test is fine, but so is a final product, a presentation, a debate or a performance. One teacher, for example, worked with his class over four lessons towards playing Smells Like Teen Spirit together. If you can explain what your class needs to be able to do at the end, GoYou can build the way there.

From your students’ own work. In the practice task, GoYou sees for each student which questions went well, where answers went wrong and where someone got stuck. What your class still struggled with comes back in the next lesson. What they have already mastered is not explained again.

Then you are notified, and the tutor works with that student so they still get to grips with the material, for example by briefly bringing it back in the next practice task. That happens at student level first. If a larger part of the class falls into the same trap, that trap gets extra whole-class attention in the next lesson. After all, GoYou knows the goal you are working towards.

Yes. If you shift the goal, GoYou uses the lessons that are left to close the gap: the remaining lessons are set up again around what your class still needs at that point.

Of course. Many teachers start that way. And we are working towards the other extreme: series that build on each other together become a textbook method, so that before long you can set up not just a whole school year but, in principle, a complete programme of study with GoYou.

That is coming soon. What you share then is the sequence, not the finished lessons: your colleague has them built for their own class, because their group is not yours. That creates coherence across teachers instead of separate material per person.

No, and we would rather be honest about that straight away. GoYou makes mistakes, like any AI. That is why you check it before you teach it, and that is why you can change everything.

GoYou provides the material, the teacher approves it and teaches the lesson. That puts the responsibility for the content with the teacher and the school, just as with any other material used in class.

It walks a student through the material, at their own level and following their own interests, until it really sticks. It is a conversation, not a chatbot that says “well done”.

No. What the tutor discusses with a student is tightly bounded: it stays within the material and the lesson you have set.

Then it does not make anything up. The tutor passes the question to you as the teacher and tells the student so. You see the question or comment with a draft answer, which you can edit, throw away or send. Only when you click send does it go to the student. If several students have the same question, you automatically get a suggestion to cover it in the next lesson.

No. The tutor guides, it does not fill in the answers.

As little as possible. For logging in: a first name, a surname and a password, plus an email address or a username that we create. An email address is not required. For the profile the tutor uses: a first name, an avatar and whatever the student fills in about their interests. Beyond that, the work itself: answers to tasks, progress and the conversations with the tutor. For you as a teacher, we process your name, email address, school type, subjects and the classes you create.

All student data is processed by a European supplier. The database, the file storage and the servers that run the application are in Frankfurt, Germany. Email goes through a French provider. Our software is kept with an American code host; no student data goes there. It is set out in full under Safety and privacy.

Yes. We work with the Model Verwerkersovereenkomst (the model data processing agreement) that belongs to the Convenant Digitale Onderwijsmiddelen en Privacy, the Dutch covenant on digital educational resources and privacy, with the standard annexes: a privacy notice and a security annex. Request it via privacy@goyou.io and we will send it to you.

We work with two language model suppliers. All tasks that involve student data run with a European supplier: for a tutor conversation, the conversation itself is sent along with that student’s profile. The teaching material itself is created by an American supplier, which receives no student data in doing so: it gets your lesson request and the lesson content. Our suppliers are named in the data processing agreement. If we switch model or supplier, you will hear about it from us.

No. No one trains on your data: not us and not our suppliers. The data is only used to create the lesson or give an answer. With the European supplier that processes all student data, zero data retention has also been agreed and recorded in writing: a tutor conversation disappears there once the answer is given and does not stay in a log file either.

We work according to the agreements in the covenant and use the accompanying model agreement.

One period for everything: two years after the last activity, after which we delete it. That applies to accounts, profiles, teaching material, completed tasks, tutor conversations and log files, for students and teachers alike. If a school or a teacher wants data deleted sooner, we arrange that on request.

All traffic runs over an encrypted connection and data is also stored encrypted. Access is restricted per user: a teacher only sees their own classes and lessons, a student only their own work. Backups are made daily, plus a weekly encrypted copy outside the platform. The restore procedure has been tested: we restored a full backup into an empty database and counted whether everything was back.

We report it to the school concerned without undue delay, with what happened, which data is involved and what we are doing about it. If you suspect a breach or a vulnerability yourself, report it to security@goyou.io.

Accessibility is a starting point in how we build: sufficient colour contrast, usable with the keyboard and working on a small screen.
