GoYou for school leaders

GoYou makes tailored teaching material: a presentation, instructions, practice work and an AI tutor that guides the student through it. It is safe, it is many times cheaper than a regular textbook method, and it can be used far more widely.

What it is

GoYou makes tailored teaching material: a presentation, instructions, practice work and an AI tutor that guides the student through it. The teacher describes what the class needs, GoYou builds the lesson, the teacher approves it and teaches it.

What it costs

€29.50 per month per teacher, including VAT, with all subjects and all classes included. Students are always free. In the beta, nobody pays anything. For a whole team we agree a school price.

Where the data is stored

All student data is processed by a European supplier. That supplier uses it only to make the lesson or give an answer, does not keep it afterwards and does not train on it. Zero data retention has been agreed with that supplier and put in writing. The database, the file storage and the servers that run the application are in Frankfurt. With schools we sign the Model Verwerkersovereenkomst (the model data processing agreement) that belongs to the Convenant Digitale Onderwijsmiddelen en Privacy (the Dutch covenant on digital learning materials and privacy), with a privacy information sheet and a security annex. It lists our suppliers by name, with the country of processing.

Responsibility for the content

GoYou supplies the material, the teacher approves it and teaches the lesson. The AI tutor stays within the material and the lesson the teacher has set, and passes questions outside that on to the teacher.

Rolling out across a team

No implementation project is needed. GoYou is designed so that a teacher can find their own way through it: the system itself asks the questions it needs, and anyone who wants to know something asks the help assistant, in the product and on this site. So a teacher can start today without anyone sitting next to them. During the beta we come to your school to take your teachers through it.

When a teacher leaves

The teacher’s account is closed. Lessons the teacher has shared with colleagues simply stay available to the team, and students keep access to the material that was set out for them. So sharing pays off, also for the continuity of your school.

Why this delivers more.

GoYou is built on one principle: material that connects with the world of a class and of the individual student delivers more. That is one of the better-researched findings in educational psychology. That is why we expect GoYou to produce higher learning gains than a generic lesson generator or a chatbot.

A connection with their own world raises both interest and grades. In experimental research in which students explicitly linked the material to their own lives, both interest and performance went up. The effect was strongest among the students who performed least well. Hulleman & Harackiewicz, Science, 2009; replicated by Hulleman et al., 2017.
Tasks set in a context the student recognises are done better. On maths problems tailored to the student’s interests, performance was higher than on the same problems in a standard context.Walkington, Journal of Educational Psychology, 2013; Walkington & Bernacki, 2018.
